From the Saint Peter kitchen to theirs
The Fish Weight comes from the kitchen at Saint Peter in Sydney, where crisp skin fish is the whole point. Josh designed it because the tool the restaurant needed didn't exist, and it has been in service there for a decade.
Engraving puts their name on a piece of that kitchen. Solid food-grade stainless steel, mirror-polished base, built to last a lifetime.

How do I add my engraving?
Choose the finish, then type your name, date or message into the engraving box. You'll see it on the weight before you add it to your cart.
What can I have engraved?
A name, an anniversary date, a short message or quote, or a company logo. If you have something else in mind, email hello@mrniland.com and we'll let you know if it's possible.
Where does the engraving go?
On the top face of the weight, around the handle, where it's seen every time it's picked up. The mirror-polished base stays untouched, so it cooks exactly like the original.
Is it the same as the original Fish Weight?
Yes. It's the same solid food-grade stainless steel Fish Weight: 16 cm (6.3 in) across, 1.6 kg (3.5 lb), with a mirror-polished base. There's a small dimple on the base where the handle has been welded on, which is normal.
Which finishes can be engraved?
All six: silver, copper, black, rose gold, gold and rainbow. Pick the finish at the top of the page.
How much is engraving?
It's included. The price shown is the Fish Weight plus the engraving, with nothing extra added at checkout. The breakdown sits under the price at the top of the page.
Can you engrave company logos in bulk?
Yes. Corporate gifting is a big part of what we do with the engraved weight. Email hello@mrniland.com for bulk pricing and artwork requirements.
Is it gift-ready?
Yes. Every Fish Weight arrives in a presentation box, and Australian orders also get a free Saint Peter tote.
How do I clean it?
It's dishwasher safe, or wipe it over with hot soapy water. The engraving is cut into the steel, so it won't wear or wash off.
Can I return an engraved weight?
Engraved weights are made to your order, so they can't be returned or exchanged. Double-check the spelling and the finish before you add it to your cart. If it arrives damaged, email hello@mrniland.com and we'll sort it out.
